Soap. The yardstick of civilization. Yes, mass produced commercial soap cleans the masses, but what's in it?
Usually detergents & sulphates, preservatives & chelating agents, animal fats & synthetic fragrances. And they remove the natural glycerin, which is why they are often extremely drying to the skin. They can be called beauty bars, french-milled bars, triple-milled bars... they can be marketed as plain or fancy... but they're all basically the same product.
Handmade artisan soap is an entirely different "yardstick".
Soaps don't need preservatives or chelating agents. They don't need anti-bacterial additives or synthetic fragrances.
At Studio11Soap we use botanical oils like extra virgin olive oil and only pure essential oils for scents. The glycerin created during the soapmaking process stays in the bar, so they are gentle and non-drying. Our customers know that once you go handmade, you never want to go back to store-bought. Not only is it kinder to your skin and natural, it is also good for our environment because every ingredient is eco-friendly and biodegradable. The big corporations can't do what an artisan soapmaker does.
At Studio11Soap, we create our own soap recipes from scratch and develop interesting scent combinations in a bar that feels good in your hand and is long lasting. There is something for everyone, find your favorite! Something as simple as a well-made bar of natural soap can bring a smile to your face. You use it every day. Make it count.
